Handsam would like to make you aware of the new or updated Quick Guides you can now access through our Quick Guide Library. We respond to the needs of our customers, through safety issues we encounter on audits or direct requests for content on particular subjects when expanding our resources. This allows us to continue to grow our library around the direct compliance needs of our clients.

NEW: DA25: Data Mapping
Data mapping is the process of linking a data field from one source to a corresponding data field in another source. This practice reduces the potential for errors, standardises data, and enhances data comprehension.
Data mapping offers a visual representation of data movement and transformation, often serving as the initial step in comprehensive data integration. Data integration consolidates data from multiple sources into a single destination in real-time. Data visualisation through data mapping merges data from multiple sources into data models, simplifying the amalgamation of dispersed data sources.
UPDATED: PAY02: Pay Levels
In line with the recommendations in the STRB’s 33rd Report, from 1 September 2023 a 6.5% increase will be applied to all pay and allowance ranges and advisory points, with higher increases to some parts of the Main Pay Range to achieve a minimum starting salary of £30,000.
UPDATED: PAY 23 Support Staff and Pension Rights
Governing Bodies should have a pay policy in place covering all school staff and update it annually.
School support staff have their pay and conditions determined in accordance with existing arrangements whereby decisions are taken at a local level by employers.
There are national pay scales in the National Joint Council (NJC) Agreement, which are usually up-rated annually with effect from 1st April. Your local authority (LA) will have negotiated a local agreement for the wider school workforce, covering salary grades and other conditions of service.
UPDATED: T-POL-RA01 Example Attendance Policy
The key focus of the Student Attendance Policy is to ensure we have the highest expectations for the attendance of all our students, and to ensure that they are recognised for achieving expected levels of attendance. We expect positive attitudes towards attendance at all times, and aim to provide a positive, safe, and purposeful learning environment for all, whereby students want to attend the Academy. It is imperative that teachers and staff form positive relationships with students, knowing them well and being able to support them in our ambitious targets for their attendance. All stakeholders are responsible for maintaining outstanding attendance at the Academy, and supporting the implementation or rewards, sanctions and intervention where necessary and appropriate.
