What is an Allergic Reaction?
Allergic reactions occur when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance such as certain types of food, pollen and bee venom. People can come into contact with allergens in several ways – by eating or ingesting, touching, inhaling or even being simply near them.
The severity of allergies varies from person to person and can range from minor irritation, such as digestive problems, hives or swollen airways, to anaphylaxis — a potentially life-threatening emergency.

- Outlines the symptoms of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
- Explores the legal parameters for pupils with food allergies

- Looks at common allergens which you will have to manage in your school

- Duration: 20-minute online training.
- Delivery: A mix of videos and interactive questions.
- Trainers: Handsam Managing Director Simon Lowe with insight from professional SenCo and SEND consultant Julie Whittingham.
