Compliance Matters 25 - January 2021
Welcome to the twenty-fifth edition of Compliance Matters - the UK's original eZine for health and safety compliance in the education sector.
The spring term sees schools having to deal with COVID-19 and Brexit, both of which will have a huge impact on our lives. Compliance Matters has a number of articles to inform and guide you in these potentially difficult times. In this issue we offer guidance on how to deal with COVID-related RIDDOR incidents, updates to HSE's ventilation guidelines and the current state of mental health in the education sector. We also examine the post-Brexit transition for schools.
One of our regular contributors, Marilyn Hawes gives us some insight into keeping children safe on social media. School operations expert Martin Cain tells us how to successfully implement a catch up premium plan.
Also in this issue, we have the first in a two-part article on assaults on school staff, climbing walls and the updates to the General Estates Management (GEMS) guidance.
February is LGBT History Month and Handsam offer some guidance on how you can get involved.
