Compliance Matters 23 - September 2020
Welcome to the twenty-third edition of Compliance Matters - the UK's original eZine for health and safety compliance in the education sector.
Schools are opening their doors to an uncertain autumn term and are getting to grips with new systems and methods of working. In this issue of Compliance Matters, we highlight the ways you can stay safe while video conferencing, what to do if a student becomes unwell with Coronavirus, and how to make sure your premises are free from legionella, following a prolonged break. To make sure that schools are protecting their staff and their students, we've created two new E-Training courses on COVID-19 Hygiene and PPE. We've included a useful do's and dont's of reopening your school article, to help you get started, this term. There is also information on the HSE's plans to spotcheck schools to make sure they are COVID-19 ready.
One of our regular contributors, Marilyn Hawes gives us some insight into how school staff can support children with adverse childhood experiences.
School operations expert Martin Cain highlights the ways in which blended learning approaches can be used in response to COVID-19.
Also in this issue, we look at how you can get involved with World Peace Day, the new updates to the Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation and how to make sure that you are collecting the right data and much more.
In addition to this, Handsam also have a brand new e-training course available on how to deal with COVID-19
