Compliance Matters 19 - September 2019
Welcome to the nineteenth edition of Compliance Matters - the UK's original eZine for health and safety compliance in the education sector.
For September, Handsam highlight the recent changes to Keeping Children Safe in Education, as well as the important implications of the new Academies Financial Handbook 2019. Our latest advice includes How to Manage Extra Curricular Activities, Supporting Students with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia and Reasonable Adjustments for Visually Impaired Pupils.
This issue also features the first of a three-part interview series with Professor Jonathan Glazzard of the Carnegie Centre of Mental Health in Schools. In his first instalment, Professor Glazzard discusses the importance of student mental health and what schools and academies can do to support young people.
In addition to this, Handsam also have some brand new e-training courses available. We have two new courses on stress: Coping with Stress, for employees, and Managing Stress in Schools, for employers. In light of the new KCSIE guidance, we have also updated our e-training course on Safeguarding Children and have also amended our e-training course on Data Protection. All of these courses are fully available and ready to be assigned to staff members.
