Updated Quick Guides and Policies
Handsam would like to make you aware of the new or updated Quick Guides you can now access through our Quick Guide Library. We respond to the needs of our customers, through safety issues we encounter on audits or direct requests for content on particular subjects when expanding our resources. This allows us to continue to grow our library around the direct compliance needs of our clients.
PLEASE NOTE THAT POLICIES ARE NOT A PART OF THE "QUICK GUIDES" PACKAGE AND UNLESS THEY ARE COVERED IN YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, THEY MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY.

UPDATED: ST01: Conditions of Employment
A Head Teacher's duties are set out in the annual School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD). Where a Head Teacher (or any other teacher) transfers to an academy under the Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Regulations 2006 (TUPE), statutory conditions of service become contractual ones (Heron v Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council 2013) and remain as they were at the point of transfer regardless of any change in the statutory terms (Alemo-Herron v Parkwood Leisure Ltd 2013). In practice, however, academies either embody annual alterations into their own terms and conditions for teachers or create entirely new agreements which may or may not reflect the national terms and conditions.
